What Matters Is How You End

Recently, I was asked to speak to a couple of dozen men in a drug rehab centre. They are tough guys. Most of them had done some serious prison time. What do you say to people like this to give them hope?
I told them that it doesn’t matter how you begin; it matters how you end.
The Bible is actually full of examples of people who ended up well after starting off in a really bad place.
I know what it’s like to feel helpless and stuck!
But God promises, to everyone who sticks with him, that,
Although your former state was ordinary, your future will be extraordinary.
You might be in a really ordinary place right now. So how do you make sure that you end up well? By believing that what God has promised you is true. Remember: where you begin doesn’t count, it’s where you end up that really matters!
