300 Spartans
In 480 B.C., a very small group of 300 Spartans held back the entire invading Persian army at the pass of Thermopylae. That incredible battle has been put to good use by Hollywood, most recently in the movie “300.”
In the Bible there’s a similar story of an army of 300, who with God’s help, defeated a powerful opposing force when the situation seemed hopeless. You can read about it in Judges chapter seven.
But what about you? Have you ever faced overwhelming odds, and had that feeling that you just weren’t strong enough, big enough or good enough to overcome them?
The good news is, God specialises in taking ‘nobodies’ like you and me and turning them into somebodies. And so no matter how weak you may feel or how impossible the situation, remember that with God all things are possible – and trust and depend on his strength to help you overcome the odds.
With God, all things are possible.
