JESUS IS… The Door — John 10 | Sunday Sermon with Dave Miers

Sep 6, 2026 47

Over a quarter of Australians no longer feel the world is a safe place. Most of us are carrying a quieter version of the same question: Am I actually safe? In John 10, Jesus says, “I am the door of the sheep.” Not a door. The door. It’s either the most comforting thing you’ll ever hear — or the most confronting.

In this sermon, we explore what Jesus means and why it changes everything about where we look for security. Jesus didn’t just point to a door. He became the door — with his own body. The cross is the threshold. His death is what opens it. And once you’re through, no one can snatch you from his hand — or from the Father’s hand. True safety is not the absence of danger. It’s the presence of the one who holds all things and holds you.

JESUS IS… who he says he is. A series in the “I AM” statements in John’s Gospel.
