Able To Keep You From Falling
I’ve always had this love-hate relationship with a verse of the Bible. Like, is that even allowed??? Anyway, here it is, in Jude 24:
To him who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy .
I’ve hated it because I didn’t understood how that promise could be fulfilled, because I stuff up all the time.
But now understand that this promise is talking about is faith, not sin. It’s saying that Christ is able to keep you from falling away from faith.
God can certainly present us faultless before his throne. But we can’t present ourselves as faultless there, not even a little bit faultless! It’s God who does it, by looking at Jesus’ perfect character, and not looking at our sins.
And if God has promised to present you before his throne with great joy, then you can be joyful today as well!
Christ is able to keep you from falling away from faith.
