Some Christians have a reputation for being judgmental. They focus more on how people look and speak and act than anything else.
But that’s got nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus. His teachings overwhelmingly focus on the heart. Jesus directly and constantly confronted those who were focused on the externals. Jesus taught that the root cause of trouble in our lives comes from within our hearts, and not from outside.
Without a heart of love, a religious focus on the externals isn’t only meaningless, but dangerous.
It is not even about having a balance, It is simply about putting first things first. Our hearts need to be changed. It’s called being born again.
If you want changes in your life, focus on the heart. And the only one who can change your heart is Christ.
