Unlimited: How Not To Burn Out
Nov 26, 2021 1195
By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible (Hebrews 11:27, NIV).
Everything in life depends on what you look at. This is much easier to preach than to practice. But Scripture is trying to tell us we can persevere when we see him who is invisible.
My sad experience is that when trouble comes, I am tempted to look at the trouble only. Things don’t get any better until I find myself repeatedly praying, “Lord, don’t just fix the trouble, fix me. Fix me! Make it more natural for me to see You as bigger, higher, stronger than this threat that faces me.”
Moses didn’t learn this lesson easily. At 40, he blew everything. It’s been said about Moses that he spent 40 years learning to be somebody in Pharaoh’s court; 40 years learning to be nobody, looking after sheep; and only then was God able to use him for the next 40 years.
The bush was burning but it didn’t burn out.
Moses saw a bush aglow with God: it was burning, but not burnt out.
God spoke to Moses out of the bush, and in effect said, “Moses, you were burnt out 40 years ago. You were like one of these shrivelled, desert bushes. But, Moses, if you will accept my presence, you won’t burn out.”
Any old bush will do. It’s not the bush that’s important. It’s the God who’s in the bush. – Des Ford (adapted)
Reflection: If “everything in life depends on what you look at,” then what are you going to look at today? Make it your goal today to see the things that are invisible, such as to look beyond people’s actions and see their hearts. And most importantly, to see your invisible God who walks beside you.
REALLY LIFE CHANGING message.IT IS WHOLLY describe MY LIFE.THANKS
Trusting God all the way and seeking His face. Am so encouraged with this message. Many are the times we don't trust God's process in nurturing us so that our potentials and much more His purpose to be fulfilled in us. God help me to persevere and open my eyes to perceive your presence even in hard times.
I have faith in God. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the only God, who led me, and he will lead my way ...
