A Visitor With Gifts
There’s an old African saying that goes, “A visitor is a blessing.” There’s also an African tradition that visitors, especially those who come from far away, bring some gifts for the children in the family.
More than 2000 years ago, Jesus arrived at our home, the earth. And while some people brought him gifts, it was actually Jesus who came with the greatest gifts of all. Here’s how the Bible puts it in John chapter one:
So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness.
Unfailing love and Faithfulness. These are the two gifts Jesus brought with him when he came into the world. And he gave them out abundantly during his time on earth to all who trusted in Him.
Jesus still offers the precious gifts of unfailing love and faithfulness to you and me today. Have you accepted them?
Jesus was a visitor with gifts – he came with the greatest gifts of all.
