The Rooster Still Crows
You know that feeling you get…
Your friends tell you a joke and you don’t laugh. Your food tastes no good. You go to bed and your pillow feels like a rock. Round and round your head the thoughts go… of something bad you’ve done and of what the consequences will be.
Yep. It’s guilt.
Three thousand years ago, Jesus told Peter that before the cock crowed, Peter would have denied ever knowing him. That’s exactly what Peter did… and then the cock crowed.
The good news is that Jesus still loved Peter, and because of that he forgave him everything.
The annoying rooster is guilt waking you up.
It’s a wake-up call, not to tell you that you’re hopeless, but to remind you that Jesus can forgive whatever you’ve done. After all, roosters only crow at the start of a brand new day. So I hope it turns out to be a great one for you!
